FAQ
Is this a real VPN?
No, and that's the point. Hourly VPN is a remote browser session: a Chrome window actually running on our hardware in the city you picked. Your other apps are still on your home connection. We chose this design so there's nothing to install and so it works on any device with a browser.
What works and what doesn't?
General browsing, news, and most everyday sites work well. Sites that hard-block datacenter IPs (some banks, a few streaming services) won't. File downloads from the remote browser to your local machine work; uploads from your local machine into the remote browser don't, in v1.
What about my privacy?
We don't log full URLs or page contents. We do log destination hostnames per session, retained 30 days, for AUP review (no spam, no scraping). Your account is just an email; no password.
Can I get a refund?
We don't run automated refunds. If something fails on our end, we'll either fix it and re-deliver or refund you and email you about it.
Why no account / why no app?
The audience is occasional use: you need a remote browser for a short stretch and do not want another monthly app. Anything that takes longer than 60 seconds to set up loses that audience. Email + magic link is the smallest amount of "account" that lets us hold your balance for 12 months and let you come back.
